Dangerous Komodo dragons
The safest way to observe them is at the Komodo National Park. It is absolutely forbidden to walk around the park alone, without being accompanied by an experienced guide, because the Komodo dragon can turn out to be an animal that attacks humans. Therefore, inconsiderate gestures, running or getting too close to these animals should be avoided at all costs.
Hunting tactics
Due to its size, this lizard dominates the ecosystems in which it lives. It captures its prey, invertebrates, birds and mammals, either by chasing them or by ambushing them. Its group hunting tactics are an exception in the reptile world. The diet of the largest specimens consists mainly of deer, although they also consume considerable amounts of carrion.
Numerous animals
About two thousand people, descendants of former confined prisoners, live on Komodo Island and, in addition to the largest saurian in nature, there are numerous animals such as wild pigs, water buffalos and birds of different species.
