Marija Milicevic, a geological and mining engineer, together with her three sisters, Vedrana, Milijana and Valentina, decided to build the "Hobbiton" tourist resort, which is based entirely on the "Lord of the Rings" book and film series and is a new tourist attraction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This wonderful initiative is being developed in the village of Rakova Noga, near Kresevo. Built with the aim of attracting as many people as possible to share memories, it is already attracting many tourists and onlookers not only from Bosnia, but also from neighbouring European countries.
Importantly, the Milicevic sisters used natural materials in the construction of the Hobbit houses, which are also environmentally friendly and bear the names of ancient Bosnian places and people.

The Hobbiton of Kresevo, as the Hobbit village is called, is located near the ancient royal and mining town of Kresevo, a 40-minute drive from the country's capital, Sarajevo. "We often held family gatherings on this hill and discussed what would be the best way to exploit this view for tourism purposes," said Milijana, the eldest of the Milicevic sisters, pointing to the breathtaking view of a valley and lake nestled between the hills.
All houses are 25 square metres and can accommodate four people. In addition, each house has its own private courtyard, which, in addition to the beautiful view, offers the opportunity to grill and cook outdoors. There is also a walk through the magical forest, houses for pets and the 'Golishan' hut for organising parties. The price of staying varies depending on the season, but is generally around 50-100 euro per night.
