Punaluʻu Beach, Hawaii, Usa
The beach in Punaluʻu, also called Black Sand Beach, is a beach between Pāhala and Nāʻālehu located in the U.S. state of Hawaii. The sand has a deep black color and is composed of basaltic volcanic lava fragments erupted from the volcano Kilauea, which is located nearby. The sand has a fine, soft texture and is composed of volcanic minerals such as magnetite, hematite, and olivine. Its volcanic origin also makes it heavier than normal sand. The beach in Punaluʻu is famous for its natural beauty and for the presence of green sea turtles that often rest on the black sand. In addition, the beach is surrounded by palm trees and other tropical plants that add further charm to the landscape.

Budelli, Sardinia, Italy
Budelli is an island belonging to the La Maddalena archipelago, located in the far north of Sardinia at Bocche di Bonifacio. The pink beach is located in Cala di Roto, southeast of the island of Budelli and takes on this particular hue due to the presence of calcareous shells of Miniacina miniacea, a foraminifera found on the island.

Kaihalulu Beach, Hawaii, Usa
We are still in the archipelago of Hawaii, but this time on the island of Maui. Also called Red Sand Beach, the beach in Kaihalulu owes its color to the erosion of the hill by sea waves: The iron (mineral) of which the hill is composed gives the reddish color to the sand as well.

Papakolea beach, Hawaii, Usa
Papakōlea Beach is a green sand beach located near South Point, in the Kaʻū district of the island of Hawai'i. The characteristic green color is due to the presence of the olivine mineral, resulting from volcanic activity in the area and present in the soil.
